As a GP and British Menopause Society (BMS)-recognised menopause specialist, I founded The Birmingham Menopause Clinic to provide exceptional care to women during the menopausal transition and beyond.
Qualifications and experience
- Education: Graduated from Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London (UCL) with a BSc in Neuropharmacology and Neurophysiology (1985) and MBBS in 1988. Completed GP training in Worcester. Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP).
- Specialised training: Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care and Diploma from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health (DFSRH).
- Clinical skills: Certified in practical procedures including the contraceptive implant and intrauterine devices (LoC SDI and IUT).
Professional Focus
With a passion for women’s health and extensive experience in menopause care, I accept external referrals and manage complex cases. I am dedicated to supporting perimenopausal and menopausal women through personalised treatment plans.
Continuous learning and expertise
- Completed an RCGP-accredited course in Lifestyle Medicine to enhance patient care.
- Earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Birmingham, contributing to medical education and policy development.
Beyond clinical practice
Outside of my medical practice, I advocate for menopause awareness and provide support to organisations in staff well-being and policy development. My personal experiences and professional journey have shaped my commitment to enhancing women’s health during menopause.
Personal interests
Married to a surgeon with three grown-up children and elderly parents, I value family time and enjoy activities such as running, CrossFit, meditation, and travel.
